CELEBRATION 2005 TO LAUNCH ON 100 HUNTLEY STREET - THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 25TH

For three weeks in the spring of 2005, Christians will come together as never before to demonstrate Christ’s love in practical ways in every community across Canada.  Celebration 2005, an initiative developed by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC), is encouraging believers in churches and ministries from coast to coast to put their faith into action from May 21st to June 12th of 2005.

The first public presentation of Celebration 2005 will be Friday, June 25th on 100 Huntley Street, the daily Christian interview/talk format television program that has been broadcasting since 1977.  The program on June 25th will focus on what Celebration 2005 is – globally, nationally and locally. Viewers will discover how churches and ministries can become involved, and there will be creative suggestions for impacting people and communities in new and strikingly different ways.

One of the guests on the upcoming program, Dr. Guy Saffold, vice president and academic dean of Trinity Western Seminary, describes Celebration 2005 as “a stunning opportunity for God's people in Canada to join together in proclaiming God's love for the people of our nation and our love for Him. Celebration 2005 is not a standardized program that will be replicated. Instead, Celebration 2005 is a unique, networked event, a multi-faceted festival of joy as groups of God's people from across the country reach out to their communities in diverse ways. Now is the time for churches and ministries to get on board with this pioneering event.” David Macfarlane, the EFC’s director of National Initiatives, who is leading Celebration 2005, and Barb MacDonald, an Ottawa-area lay leader of a local church, will also appear on the program.   Date:   June 25, 2004                                       (Quoted from Media Release)
