News Release
New Director for IFC
After 18 years of faithful service with Intercessors For Canada,
Peter and Joy Wyns are handing over the leadership of IFC to
Pastor David Carson in Vancouver, B.C. Since January Peter has
been working for Derek Prince Ministries in Charlotte, North
Carolina. Peter and David have been friends for over twenty years
and have had similar aspirations as pastors and prayer mobilizers
for Canada.
David is pastor of the First Century Church, Metrotown, and is
secretary of the Vancouver Pastors' Prayer Fellowship. He is chair
of 'Vancouver At Prayer' and gives leadership to prayer for
'Hope-Vancouver'. David has served with 'Canada In Prayer' since
1997 and has built good relationships with other national prayer
leaders. Last year David helped to organize the G8 Prayer Summit
in Calgary and also attended the International Prayer Leaders
Consultation in Cape Town. David is a pioneer who believes God is
a prayer hearing and a prayer answering God. David has been
married to Beth for 34 years and they have a son Tom who is 25 and
working with the ministry 'Athletes in Action'.
David says: "I feel very privileged to take the helm of this
established national prayer ministry and slightly daunted at the
same time. These are critical days for the nations of the Earth
and our nation of Canada is in great need of prayer. I hope to
maintain the distinctiveness of IFC particularly with regard to
teaching on prayer and important issues facing the country. I have
also had a long term desire to pray for the 'Peace of
Jerusalem', and for Christ to be known in all the countries of the Middle East. I
will seek to develop a passion for prayer through the careful use
of e-mail and our web site. Some upcoming developments are:
*** IFC Newsletter Bi-monthly

*** IFC Alert A

In all of this I want to mobilize prayer through our Lord Jesus
Christ, who has made Intercession His great ministry prior to His
glorious return."
